Is this for disabled adults only or for others needing affordable housing? The initial article I read stated Hope Church was looking at housing for disabled adults who currently live with aging parents. This appears it will be only affordable housing, not for disable adults. Please clarify.
Hi Heidi, thank you for that question. The simple answer is the development will be both. The total development is 46 (possibly 47) apartments. Of those, 11 apartments will have project-based vouchers through MSHDA’s 811 program, which will reserve those units for households with a disability. The remaining apartments will be strictly affordable in various income ranges at or below 60% of the Area Median Income.
When do you expect to break ground? Is there a way to make application for one of the units for people with disabilities?
We are still working through the approval process with the City of Holland and then the next steps would be applying for funding. We are too far out to know when we will break ground and have details on the applications process. We will provide this information as we move through the development process.
