Avenue for the Arts and Heartside Gallery featured on “The Bright Side”

CEDAM (Community Economic Development Association of Michigan) is producing a television show featuring Michigan communities. On their latest episode, Episode 3: Michigan Arts and Culture, they came to Grand Rapids to film the Avenue for the Arts and Heartside Gallery.

The video features interviews with Heartside Gallery artists Willie JonesJane Vandommelen and director Sarah Scott along with spots by 106 Gallery director Sara Bakker and Hoi Polloi musicians Ashley and Alex McGrath. Commentary about the Avenue for the Arts by Dwelling Place employee Jenn Schaub.

The Bright Side seeks to tell the stories of the transformative, inspiring work that is happening within our communities. This show will highlight the efforts of the community development industry and will share resources, best practices and information about community members, nonprofits, and other stakeholders across Michigan. The Bright Side is committed to providing honest, authentic, accessible programming that will inspire, empower and educate our viewers.

The Bright Side is produced by CEDAM (Community Economic Development Association of Michigan). CEDAM was awarded a $25,000 equipment grant from the Lansing Public Media Center to produce this show.

The show is scheduled to air monthly for the next two years. Look for it on Lansing Comcast Cable Channel 16 (stay tuned for the day/time). Full episodes will also be available on YouTube.
