After 33-years of leadership at Dwelling Place, Denny Sturtevant will retire from his role as CEO on July 30, 2021.
The Board of Directors of Dwelling Place of Grand Rapids NPHC would like to announce the upcoming retirement of Dennis Sturtevant, after more than 32 years serving as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Sturtevant has set his retirement date for Friday, July 30, 2021.
The Dwelling Place Board would like to express its sincere appreciation to Mr. Sturtevant for his leadership and dedication in the creation of affordable housing opportunities across West Michigan. Under his leadership, Dwelling Place has grown to become one of the largest and most successful community development corporations in the state. Today Dwelling Place owns and manages more than 1,400 affordable rental apartments in 4 West Michigan counties and has recently formed a Community Land Trust to add affordable homeownership opportunities to its offerings. In addition to its real estate development portfolio, Dwelling Place offers a wide array of support programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and the neighborhoods where it operates.
Over its 40 year history, Dwelling Place has been the recipient of numerous awards and special recognitions at the local, state, and national levels for its innovation and collaborative work in affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization.
A national search led by the Dwelling Place board and Third Sector Company is now underway for a new Chief Executive Officer. To celebrate the legacy of Mr. Sturtevant, Dwelling Place will host a series of engagement opportunities for the community. More information about these events will be hosted on our website.
