On Saturday, April 24th, 2010 over 200 volunteers will remove 175 bags of trash, 50 bags of yard waste and 8 bins of recycled debris from the Heartside Neighborhood as a part of Heartside Pride Clean Sweep.

Part of a decade long partnership between the Community Action Volunteers of Aquinas College (CAVA) and the Heartside Downtown Neighborhood Association (HDNA) Heartside Pride Clean Sweep brings together Heartside residents and Aquinas students to clean the neighborhood, while educating and inspiring both groups.

The event begins at Heartside Park as volunteers gather to pick up supplies and form groups. Each group will be paired with a Heartside resident volunteer who will lead the group to their assigned clean up location. At noon volunteers meet up for lunch and entertainment.

The HDNA is still in need of support for this event!  We are looking for: Heartside residents interested in serving as volunteer coordinators and event sponsors.

  • Heartside resident volunteers will lead groups of Aquinas students to clean up sites and act as neighborhood ambassadors. They will recieve a free tee-shirt and lunch!
  • Clean Sweep has been the primary fundraising tool for supporting a variety of HDNA activities including: Harvest for Heartside, the Heartside Gardens, the Public Safety Committee, The Heartside Talent show and more!

If you have any questions about this event or would like to know more about the HDNA and the contributions it makes to our community please feel free to contact us:
